The Public Media Platform (PMP) worked to help public media’s important programming reach a larger audience. By combining today’s technological opportunities with partnerships of public media stations, higher education, and intrepid engineers, The PMP team helped get programs like NPR’s Marketplace to more listeners than ever before. One of their major communication outlets, their website, needed to better support their efforts.
Since the website launched, the PMP has been fully integrated in to part of NPR’s operations, but the work we did helped show stations what was possible.
Strategy was key
Through content strategy meetings and strong collaborative efforts, we determined Public Media Platform’s work focused on the results powered by their technology, not the technology itself. We needed to give them the platform to brag that they deserved.
We leveraged WordPress to create custom types that allowed the site to be kept up to date easily by the small team at PMP without sacrificing their unique personality. Simple SVG animations and bright illustrations helped give the site a playful voice, showing that public media is not an antiquated concept in today’s communication market. That look carried over to print collateral as well.
“We loved working with Rocketkoi on our new website and are so pleased with how it turned out! Their kickoff process helped us hone in on what our vision was, who we wanted to reach, and what our ideal tone should be. All along the way they were clear, easy to work with, on schedule, and fun. In fact, we had such a good experience that we’re teaming up with them again on a few more projects! Thanks, Rocketkoi! You guys rock.”
